Having ordered a new Honda, the dealer quoted me £250 for the map software, my reation was "I can get it for less on ebay". However, I am unsure of whatever I buy be it TomTom or NavMan, will the software be suitable? Or is it that the aforementioned product are only suitable for PDA'a as oposed to the hardware that is fitted to a Honda.

You comment would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I am not sure about the hardware that is fitted to your new car, but the tom tom and navman are designed for PDA, unless you buy there standalone units.

Not sure if this will help. Tele Atlas have a listing by car brand of navigational maps you can buy online ( £89 )
