Default GPS wanted: Traffic, Europe, Speed, PDA under £300?

Hi,

I know you get asked these questions all the time, but here goes.

I am after a GPS device that has UK and basic Europe maps, uses traffic reports to re-route me and has free or low cost speed camera system (POIs will do).

I looked at the AA device that has traffic, but no europe maps (although AA tell me that is due in July but no pricing info as yet) and no ability to add POIs so its £80 for AA Speedcare. I would prefer a PDA as I think I will get more use out of it.

Does anyone have any suggestions for under £300?

I dont think those requirements are doable at that price I'm afraid.

I think the lowest price traffic updates you can get are from tomtom at about £40-50 a year. To do this you need a bluetooth phone and bluetooth PDA. When you add Euro maps as well its all going to add up.

So, what are your thoughts on the AA device? I like the idea of intergrated traffic free for life. Could always get tomtom software for europe. just a shame about not being able to add poi for speed camreras. Add £79.99 for first year the £49.99 thereafter for speedcare it still a good cheap option? Guessing £80 for the europe maps when they release them?

edit: just noticed on the aa site that they plan to add a POI maker:
Coming soon

Desktop POI maker. You will soon be able to download AA Navigator desktop POI maker. This will allow you to make your own unique POI dataset to save and share.

i presume it wont take long for someone to then release a camera dataset for it....
