Lightbulb sound quality on a PDA

I have decided to load Tom Tom onto a PDA (not yet decided which one). So that I can use SAT NAV away from the car I am going to buy a bluetooth GPS. Will the speaker on the PDA eg an iPAQ be powerful enough. Can anyone tell me if it is possible to use a bluetooth earpiece instead? Is a bluetooth speaker available?

I have seen the Thinknavi holder with a built-in GPS which looks good - but I would still need a separate BT for use out of the car.

The speaker is fine on my hx4700 with tomtom, i use it through the bluetooth to a bluetooth gps unit.

Depends on the PDA most of the newer PDA's we sell are pretty loud I think. I can quite easily get you one of our seidio cradles wich has speakers built in as well as we sell them for most of our PDA's if you think sound quality would be an issue.

For bluetooth receivers I would look at our Holux or Carcomm units.

We sell a holux cradle with built in receiver but I wouldnt see the point of getting something like that if you are going to get a bluetooth one anyway. Both of the blueooth receivers above would give a better reception than any built in receivers. Having a blueooth reciever and bluetooth speaker or headset connected at the same time wont really work to well. I would say your best bet would be a seidio mount and one of the receivers from above.

Give me a ring if you have any questions.

Have you considered a PDA with a Gps built into it? The fujitsu-siemens loox n500,n520, or n560 are nice PDA's with built in Sirf III chipsets. Or the Asus Mypal A636 or A632 which has a speaker on the front of the unit for the best sound possible.

I had a dell Axim X51v and a BT receiver with Iguidance. When i travel, with my camera and PDA and BT receiver and cell phone, That's just too much to carry. Now i use a Mitac Mio P350 and it eliminates at least the BT device. It's a nice unit as well.

If your worried about battery life, your PDA will die out before your BT receiver, the Asus mypal even with the GPS turned on, will get a better battery life then many other pda's.
