major problems with palm zire 31/kirrio gps

a few days ago got a palm zire 31 bundle with kirrio br-306 gps reciever bundled with viamichelin, i got it working and used it few times last week, today i connect it up as usual, and nothing, it shows up as being connected on the 'port', but there are no satallities at all even after 10 mins and with the antenna on the roof!!, this is really annoying when i first got it it took about a minute, it is getting some sort of signal because im going into the gps test bit where you see a bar graph as such and half of them are there but not filled if if you get me just the outline, please help!!

just more info, i last used it about a 5 days ago, and today (satday) left it connected to in-car power and the kirrior br-306 reciever on the roof for 15 mins and it's senses it's connected and i can see about 6 satatllies but not connected to any as such, this is so annoying because when i first got the unit and powered it up with the reciever it took about 30 seconds!!!!!, please help me, if this causes much more problems it's off back!
