Default It's all so befuddling :-?

Hi,
Having read this and the Navman thread I'm still not sure which GPS system to go with.

I've recently upgraded to a Tungsten T3 with a view getting a GPS system but can't decide between them.

I know it's a subjective thing, but should I go for Navman or TomTom. Ideally I'd like a system which can be used in and out of a car and I guess a bluetooth one (?)

I appreciate the TomTom has the pre-installed SD card but it *seems* that Navman's system is better.

If someone can please give a few pointers I'd be very grateful.

TIA

PEN

Hi PEN,
I haven't tried Navman on the T3 but I am using TomTom just now (having used both TomTom and Navman on PPC) and thought I'd just say that in my opinion it is an excellent system and equally as good as what I have used before. It does have a few benefits like the ability to use the extended screen and the fact that you only need to install the SD card to get going. Bluetooth would be best if you plan to use the unit outside the car but a lot of people who buy Bluetooth for that reason then realise that they wont actually use it outside the car that much if at all and then wish they had purchased a cabled system. Good luck with whatever you decide.

Thanks Charlie.

My reasoning behin going bluetooth was not to have a trailing cable on the dash....

Are the cabled versions are better? Also, do you know if the bluetooth TomTom one works off batteries as well as the 12v?

Many thanks

The receiver has a built in battery that will charge in the car and also work on the battery power if required. You will find you have the same amount of cables on the dashboard when you are charging the bluetooth receiver.
