Default Acer N10 Global Sat SIRF3 CF GPS Problem

Iv been using this for a while, but everytime i start up my tomtom software sometimes it can take upto 4 minutes for atleast 3 satalites to track my GPS device. Sometimes it takes more than 4 minutes, other times it can take 30 seconds.

If its one of the longer times, say 4 minutes, it will track 3 of the satalites, if i start driving, ill have 1 signal bar and its a good possibility that i will lose the signal.

is there any way to solve this problem??

Does your vehicle have a heated or solar reflective Screen?
Which vehicle?
where is the receiver mounted?
