Default What do I need ?

Would somebody please be kind enough to tell me what I need for the following scenario.
A few friends and myself are going treking in Nepal. What would we need to do,(Hardware/Software,) to enable our friends and family to track our progress each day on a home PC ? A bit like the RTW yacht racing people do, except we don't have sponsorship or unlimited funds ! Thanks for any advice, Mike.

You'd need to find a global GPS tracking provider.

Basically a device will periodically send the GPS signal back to a server. But you'll find you'd be looking at around £1k even for something fairly basic - purely because of the global thing.

If you were being tracked in the UK, then you'd be looking under £100 all in. And that would get you the mutts nuts of tracking to boot!
