This is a discussion on what GPS system? within the General GPS forums, part of the Satellite Navigation (GPS) category; what GPS after 30 years of wifes map reading I am determined to get a navigation system but what one ....

Red face what GPS system?

what GPS

after 30 years of wifes map reading I am determined to get a navigation system but what one .I need to be able to use it in my van for work mainly around London and in my car for european driving mainly france. I dont need PDA funtions but am not averse to them I am not sure whether to go for Garmin streetpilot / Navman or a TOM TOM based unit. any advice or infomation appreciated

What is your budget? If it is only for for pure satnav i would get a standalone system. The Navman ICN 630 is very easy to use and very good, Tom Tom will be releasing there Tom Tom GO (have not seen but heard it will be good).
