Default Pin 570 & Tom Tom

Bought myself a Navman PiN 570 [model PS1022] about a year ago and been reasonably happy with the performance but wanted to install Tom Tom software which I’m told is a better system and full postcode supported.

I installed Ver. 5 software successfully but encounted 2 problems.

  • Although the voice files were there, the programme could not find them. Hence no sound.
  • No GPS signal could be received. I tried to configure the unit with different baud rates to no avail.

Recently I installed Ver.6 software and exactly the same problems occurred. To me this points to the PDA and not the software? Has anyone come across this before and if and how so was the problem resolved?

Would very much appreciate some help with this one.

Please can anyone point me in the right direction?

If it's like the Pin100 then you need to have "Other wired NMEA" on com port 2 (baud 4800)
If you have voices on your PC and run a clean program then the .chk files get deleted. Check the voice folder on your PC for .chk files.

Are you using a PC loading program or loading from the SD card
