Default Any up-to-date map?

Hi,

I purchased a MIO C220 navigation system. UK+Ireland map was preinstalled onto the device, while Western Europe map was preinstalled on a memory card. The installed UK+Ireland map was issued in February of 2007. Mio offers only these maps: http://www.mio-tech.be/shop/index.ph...d=34&listing=1

As you can see, there is no separated UK+Ireland map available here. Also, the site says just "2007" as the issue date of the maps, no months. I'd need a May, June or July UK+Ireland map... But from WHERE to buy it? (I think this MIO device uses either a TeleAtlas or IGo map, but I'm not sure.) I can't believe if these maps are updated only once a year...

((There are a number of roads (for
example a 4 miles section of road between St. Neots and Cambridge, or 4
new roundabouts in St Neots), where there are new roads, and my device
show me flying in the middle of crop fields. Also, the speed limits are
not always okay, as some of them were changed recently (for example in
the outer parts of Cambridge). This is why I'm seeking for an updated map.))

If you have any info or advice, please tell me.

Thank you,
Attila

The 2007 is the issue date. Ordnance Survey to the mapping of GB which they then sell to e.g. Teleatlas, who in turn do their bit and sell to e.g Miomap. This all takes time, around 2 years I believe, so the 2007 issue could be 2005 mapping.

If you want May, June and July mapping of UK and Ireland, you will have to wait until early 2009 or thereabouts.

Huh, this is bad news. :-(

Do you think if all other kinds of digital maps are 2 years old?

The 2007.01 maps are the latest Mio for Europe, I think only TOMTOM has a newer map (but only by a couple of months). I think an update will be available soon as 2007.04 maps are beginning to be released for the individual countries.
