Unhappy Map change got me lost.

I just found this blog site and want to get in on the action. The real dilemma ive got is this TOMTOM one 3rd edition I bought it for my girl, and when i backed up the original UK map onto the computer, and tried to put on map of Europe but it claims there is 'not enough space' on the internal memory. Unable to format and hopefully wipe it clean, yet no files are shown now, it still claims little space left.
Ive read through the forums and didn't see any question as complicated as this lovely im dealing with.
Any TOMTOM advice?

The UK edition does not have enough internal memory for the europe maps.

Sorry to say, if you wanted the europe maps, then you should have bought the europe version.

Thanks again 'getsurfers' but the Eastern Europe map in 120 mb, and the machine has a 512 internal memory. Like i stated, ive removed the files showing nothing on the machine now, yet claims there is only 84 mb left. All i want to do is erase what is apparently on the machines internal memory.

The eu mapset is over 1gb! Each individual map that comprises the Eu edition would be nearer 2gb if puchased seperatly

Only the Eu edition has this size internal memory.

The Uk map alone is nearly 140mb!!
