Default Replacing my Bluetooth receiver help?

Hi

I had an old Bt bluetooth receiver connecting to my Hp Ipaq HX 2210 using TomTom6 software.

Ok the TTFF was incredibly slow since i bought a new car with a different windscreen. So i bought a Holox 54. The TTFF was now superb. However the accuracy is awful, so bad its almost impossible to find the right exit on a roundabout. Also it often believes i am on a slip road or still on the main road after leaving onto a slip road.
Secondly every so often while travelling it thinks i have left the motorway and started driving through the nearest field.

The supplier has sent me replacement but its just as bad.

I have also tried several different software settings. without a solution.

Can anyone help/tell me.

1. If this is a common fault, if so is it software or just a crap hardware.

2. I am better off ditching the Holox and buying an alternative - if so
Which Bluetooth RX should i go for?

Ta

Brett

I use a holox bt-321 and have never had any problems with it, you could try fitting an ariel to it to see if it improves, if it does i would say its proberbly the windscreen affecting the signal

Obviously put the ariel outside the car to try first. you could try putting the bt receiver on the back parcel shelf, so it sees up through the back window, if that worls better then its def the windscreen

i used my old BT receiver today worked fine, accurate etc so i am sure its not the software. The Holox just does not appear to be accurate. Even if it does have a fast TTFF.

I think i will replace it but not sure which one?

I am considering the "bluenext" as its sirfstar III chip.
BlueNext BN909GR Bluetooth GPS Receiver + Sirf Star III on eBay, also, GPS Systems, GPS, Consumer Electronics (end time 05-May-08 19:05:37 BST)

any ideas??

The Emtac GPS will give you a better performance than your current receiver.

Thanks
Also looking at the QSTARZ q818

How does this compare with the emtac?
(apart from being £10 cheaper!)

Not sure havent used one. Doesnt look like its sirf III though and you would probably be better getting a Sirf III type reciever.

I've been using a Holux GR236 for about 2 years with no problems. The emtac is basically the same unit in a different plastic case.

Holox are a different brand to Holux. Holox tried to cash in on the name.
