Connecting cable GPS to laptop

Hi all.
I have a spare cabled Tomtom GPS which has a 'modem' type plug, 4 wires.

This forum has given me the pinouts, Gnd Rx Tx Vcc.

To connect it to my laptop, I need to make an adapter (OK lash-up!) to go into serial (seems to have no VCC) PS2 (seems to have no Rx), or USB?

Anyone done this, or has some ideas please

Why not simply buy an RJ11 adaptor?
