Default iphone sync with mobileme and exchange

I am thinking of buying the iphone 3g on PAYG in the UK shortly and I’m particularly interested in the sync between pc and the iphone. As far as I can see I have two options, either mobileme or exchange. I have watched the mobileme video and it looks really good. What I wanted to check was what would happen if my computer was turned off when emails came in and if it would sync well with outlook 2007, which is what I use for email, calendar, tasks and contacts. Also would I still be able to keep my same email address (this would be a big plus for me). I have xp home as my operating system and as I said use outlook 2007.

I have my own domain and use the webhosting and email services of GoDaddy. I have nothing on my website, I just use the domain so that I can have personalised email. GoDaddy have two upgraded accounts: Personal Outlook and Outlook with mobile. I assume that these will work in a similar way to Mobileme and presumably I could keep my current email address. The difference between the two plans is “mobile access” available on the second plan (for twice the price), I’m not quite sure what this means.

If anyone has an opinion as to which one would be my best option I would be grateful to hear it.

Thanks
Ian

All you should need is POP3/IMAP access. IMAP prefered so both your mobile and PC will always have the same info for incoming and outgoing mail.
