Default Network selection

What is the best network/package to use for a smartphone.

Mostly used as a phone, use emails infrequently, very rarely used for internet surfing.

Cheers

What country are you in?

In the UK, T-mobile have the best data/usage packages at the moment on contract.

No, but for £7.50/month extra the offer unlimited (usual fair usage BS).

Mrs is on Flex35, which she got from their site for £25/month. With the data, there isnt a better package for £32.50!

Cheers

I am currently using PAYG Orange and I cannot seem to send emails, everything else is fine including receiving emails.

I have heard that this is a common problem on Orange, can you verify this or tell me how to solve it.

I am using the recommended - smtp.orange.net

But are you sending the emails using an orange account?

If you enebale SMTP auth, then you can send from any ISP/mail provider

Under outgoing email settings, have you filled in the email address (must match your orange address), username and password?

What device are you using?

Ipaq 614c

I have set up the servers as per instructions from Orange but no joy.

All passwords etc set correctly.

I have sent emails previously with same settings, however I have not used this function for a couple of months due to working from home. But now I am away from my PC during large parts of the day I am wanting to use it again and it does not work.

Says to me you havent got STMP auth enabled.

It'll be in the account settings, and when prompted use the same credentials as incoming server.

Orange have finally stopped all non auth'ed traffic from their own users, having blocked non orange outgoing email years ago.
