Default pda internet connection

I still have not decided upon which model to choose but as an aside can you connect to the internet whilst in Europe or does it only work in the uk.

If you have model suggestions that would be great - must have gps inbuilt with maps not a data connection based gps and possibily a full keyboard...

The PDA's will work the same way everywhere.

You could connect to a wifi network using a PDA to get internet access. You should be able to find some places that give free access.

You could also connect to your phone using bluetooth and use that to connect although your network will charge for roaming data access.

Buy Fujitsu Siemens Pocket LOOX N560
This would cover what your looking for.

You could also go for a PDA/phone.
Buy HP iPAQ Data Messenger
This has a touch screen and slide out keyboard.

You can add satnav software to both of these and the maps would be on a memory card.

Hello
Thanks for the response. Taking your HP suggestion for instance - how I understand the facilities is that besides voicecalls the HP has a built in GPS system with the possibility of european maps on a memory card - correct so far ?
If no wireless connection is available then do I dial up an internet connection or how does it work please. This is not for serious web surfing but to just say check my e-mail accounts or look the up the latest news !

Yes the receiver is built into the PDA so all you need to do is buy the satnav software separately.

When you use the phone to connect to the internet it uses GPRS or 3G rather than dial up. You'd best check with your network provider on the charges especially abroad. They will charge for the amount of data transferred rather than time connected.
