Thanks for the suggestion but I spoke to Dell. They "can't" fix it as they allegedly have no service centres in the UK. They also do not have a list of authorised repair centres, so if anyone fixes the screen the warranty is void. Nice of them don't you think?
Expansys UK replied to a forum request saying "purchase our PDA repair service" type thing. When pushed (by email) admitted they would not undertake this repair, so would charge me £17.50 for the diagnosis, then another £5 to return it unfixed.
No-one seems interested.
I am looking at possibly buying the part in the US, having it sent to a friend there and them shipping it over. I can't even find anywhere that will ship direct to the UK! |
