PDA based Tom Tom - 1710 or 2210

I am looking to buy a PDA based sat nav. To run TomTom 3 in the UK and Europe (France/Germany/Switzerland/Italy) is the IPAQ1710 adequate or should I go for the 2210?

I presume that if I have the UK on a memory card and Europe on another all I need to do is switch cards on the ferry or is there any more to do on changeover?

How big a card would Western Europe need?

Welcome to our forums.
The H1710 is perfect and if you get the HP Navigation Pack from TomTom it includes the euro maps. However you have to buy an activation code from TomTom to use those maps. The code costs €189 from TomToms site. It is simply a case of swapping cards like you said. To have the whole of western europe you would need wuite a large card....I'd recommend 2 x 512MB cards which will give you some room for other things as well.
