Question Jornada 928 & Orange GPRS

I contacted Jack as suggested but to date no reply. Has anyone else out there managed to get a Jornada 928 onto GPRS? I need settings for GPRS connection, Ezwap settings for Wap over GPRS and settings for email. I really need help here before I give up completely and have to get a Treo 600

I've used these in various ways, all to no avail. I keep getting disconnected in EZwap and am advised to troubleshoot my settings in GRPS connection for email and internet. I dispair and feel I must be very dense. If you can provide a step by step for EZwap and GRPS connection settings I would be grateful.

Default at last

had same problem myself for last month or so. didn't seem to matter what settings were entered couldn't connect to internet, msn messenger or send/ receive emails until about an hour ago.
Success at last and from the orange support team themselves along with input from Ross @ Kia ora (thanks).
Heres what worked for me:-
tap settings (on menu), tap connections tab, tap connections icon.
top option (connect to internet using) tap on new,
enter name (orange), select a modem (cellular line (GPRS), baud rate 19200.
tap advanced tab, on TCP/IP fill circle for use server assigned ip address, tap Name Servers tab, fill circle for use server assigned ip address, tap ok, tap next.
Enter "orangeinternet" in Access point name box, tap finish. tap ok. tap dialling locations tab, tap dialling patterns. enter "G" in all 3 boxes, tap ok, tap ok. (back to icons in connections section of settings).
Tap GPRS icon, tick box "auto attach upon phone on, GPRS authentication - select "none" from drop down list, tap ok, (back to icons in connections section of settings)
tap ok/x.
These settings work on my 928 for internet connection.
For email i entered "messages" from today list, tap on inbox at top right, then pick pop3.
Tap tools tab at bottom, tap options, tap pop3 then enter email details following setup steps. on email setup 4/4 enter "smtp.orange.net" under outgoing mail. tap "options" tab from drop down list by connection select the connection you made earlier (internet setting?). Follow rest of steps and you should be able to send /receive emails.
I logged on to orange.co.uk and registered my mobile number for their free email service so i could use "pop.orange.net" for incoming mail. I then used the email account i set up to register with msn messenger and after activating the account could use msn messenger.
Forgot to say that i went to ms home page and downloaded an update for msn messenger on ppc2002 and its working fine now.
Hope this helps, its a bit long winded but let me know how you get on
Regards
Pete

Talking Thank you

I can't thank you enough. I followed your precise instructions and, joy of joys, internet and email is up and running. I am delighted as I hadn't really wanted to exchange for the Treo 600 as I think the Jornada is generally the superior PDA.
Thanks
