Default Backup onto SD Card

I'm off on holiday to Europe with tom tom on my Ipaq. How do I backup the relevant software onto the SD card? If the worst case scenario happens and I have to do a hard reset, I would like to restore tom tom from the SD card

Any help would be appreciated!

I don't have the link right now but there is some info in the forums over @ www.pocketgps.co.uk about using the .cab files to do this....you should be able to find it.

Many Ipaq model have their own backup programme; (my 3950 does). Launch the programme and choose the SD card as the target.

Have a look here; read the post by Laura:

I don't have an Ipaq so I recently purchased Sprite Backup (standard edition)

I have it set up to do a scheduled backup at 18:00 every night to my 1gb SD card.

It also gives you the option to do manual backups and auto backups whenever power falls below a level you define.

Sprite stops all running programs and does a soft reset after.

You can set how many old backups are retained on your SD card.

Sprite creates an executable file which I believe can be restored on any handheld.

Before buying I used the trial version and several times tested a restore after a hard reset. The only thing I had to do was set the correct date.

From time to time I plug the SD card into my desktop and copy the contents to my hard drive.

Sprite Premium does have the option of backing up to a pc including the contents of the SD card but I found it much faster to put the SD card in my desktop reader and drag the drive and contents onto my desktop.
