Default complete novice needs help...!

I am thinking of buying a PDA but can't seem to find the information I want.

I am going to Spain soon and would like to be able to check my e-mails while away but won't have access to a computer - basically all I want to know is can I do this via a PDA on its own? I think my mobile has bluetooth but don't think it has an infrared port (its a motorola e398) - would it be any use?

If I buy a PDA with bluetooth, wi-fi etc can it connect to the internet and send e-mails independently? Will I be able to use aol and msn for example?

How much will I have to spend to get the right PDA, which are the best value for money and most suited to my needs?

Sorry for sounding completely ignorant about this - any help will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to our forums.
The IR on your phone can be used to connect your PDA to the net but it's not the most reliable method given that you have to have the PDA and phone "lined" up etc and then of course your phone has to work abroad.

A PDA with Wifi can connect independently but you need to have access to Wireless access points which may involve paid subscriptions, you would need to know if there is access in advance to set this up.

Have a read of some reviews on the models that are available to see what suits you.

Angry Hp Rz1710

I wouldnt buy this one if i was you
AS VERY LOW IN MEMORY

AS YOU CAN
SEE

The reason of the cut-down is the internal memory on a hp rz1710.
We do not have any updates to make features as traffic camera database and postal code possible.
The only reason why the 1710 navigation is a cut down version is because 1710 is a very
limited PDA and TomTom produced a version especially for 1710.
With best regards,
TomTom support team
