Carcomm cradle and gps

I'm looking at:

And it basically says it has a gps input, but only for Carcomm GPS's (Unless I buy an adaptor cable). Is this correct as I have a GPS with the little ps2 type connector (Not a Carcomm) and I want to know if it'll work with the Carcomm kit (Without the adaptor) as it looks quite a nice kit.
