Question New to PDAs. Need advice before purchase please

New to PDAs and I never used one. I will be needing it for general office type stuff including but not limited to scheduling, address book, spread sheets and email etc. I also want it to be a fun one to have, not just for work, so speed and memory is also important.

What is Tungston?
Which operating systems to avoid?

I was looking at my bosses HP IPAQ HX4705 PDA. One feature that I liked is that it had the TIME and CALENDER/DATE showing at all times when not in use while on her desk with in the docking station.

Do all PDAs do this or just the HX4705?

Is the HP IPAQ HX4705 over kill or can I do it smarter?

Please advise on my first PDA.

Welcome to our forums.
A Tungston (or a Tungsten as its spelt) is a PDA made by PalmOne.

There are really only two operating systems to choose from...PalmOS and PocketPC. Both have their pros and conse which you can read about al over the internet.

Most if not all PDAs have the time and date displayed on the main screen. If not then it can usually be set that way either in the settings or by use of additional software.

The model you mention is near the top of the range but whether or not it's overkill is for you to decide.

Good luck.
