tom tom 300- Will it work in USA?

Hi Thinking about buying a 300 here in UK. Will it work OK in the USA? How easy is it to buy USA Mapping software in UK and what sort of costs are involved? Would an IPAQ with TOM TOM kit be better than the standalone 300? Cheers Mike

The unit itself will work in the USA however there are no USA maps available yet for it. Keep an eye on www.tomtom.com for details about their release.
