Default Tomtom 5 hangs on rx3715

Hi guys

I am new to TomTom navigations and PDAs, recently bought a new RX3715 and tomtom 5 navigation sotware, everything worked first time including install, configuration and code and also the GPS bluetooth works fine too...

However, when i make a route to e.g. London, i get the usual 7 or so satellites, look at the map, it starts directing me and then after say about 20 seconds the tomtom software hangs and goes back to my PDA screen, i have tried resets and all sorts but each time it happens and its really p????ng me off now.

The bios on my PDA is the latest version from the hp site.

Has anyone come across this before?
Does anyone know a fix to this?

Regards,

Welcome to our forums.
I haven't come across it myself. Have you read through the TomTom Navigator 5 FAQ over @ www.tomtom.com?

I've been running 5 on my rx3715 now for over a month several routes every day, added poi cat's everything possible, my systems taken one hell of a beating over the last few weeks with no problems. Try using a bigger SD card and look at your system resources on the PDA to make sure you have as much free memeory as possible for running progs as tomtom like to use plenty of memeory for plotting and running routes.

hi mate

thanks for the notes, but i am using 1gb storage card with lots of free space and on the iPaq itself everything has been reset and there are NO or have NEVER been any additional programs running except the default settings, do you think running the WIFI on at the same time as BlueTooth would do this?

What exactly happens is that when i plan a route, and click through the navigate button it starts directing me to the destination and then after about 20 seconds are so it just hungs and goes back to the default HP screen.

Regards,

Have you checked HPs site for any iPAQ updates?
