Toshiba e740 startup just got a toshiba e740 pda, running ppc 2002,
it's one of the earlier models that had the dead internal backup battery, i'm going to see about getting it fixed by tosh under their recall scheme, see if they'll do it even tho i never bought it new.
But at the moment i just want to play with my new toy, but every now and then the devise re-sets it's self, i know the main battery is dying, and i have a new one on order... it'll sometimes re-set it's self if i plug the gps CF card into the pda while it's turned on, and sometimes when plugging into the sync cradle it'll re-set.
Anyway, i could live with that, except the faffing about when starting up from scratch,
The calibrate screen is ok, needs to be done, but after that it goes into the 'lets teach him to suck eggs' mode, and i have to prove to the pda i know how to hold down the stylus to do the equivelent of a right click on a mouse.
This is very annoying, as i just want to get the thing back up and running, the clock will be re-set when i next sync the pda with my computer, and my data will be on a memory card, so having it re-set is not that big a deal... except the hoops it wants me to jump through to get to the main screen after a re-set.
Is there any way to modify the start up of these pda's so it only needs to do the screen calibration bit, and nothing else?? |
