software recommendation needed

I'm new to this pocket pc business. What I could do with is a prog that I can use to maintain records. ie a set form for each person I deal with containing some categories to tick and another area where I can put the date and a few notes. I can do this on a spreadsheet but I wonder if anyone can recommend an alternative?
