Novice question about hard drives

Please can someone tell me why cheap 20gb and 40gb HD MP3 players have been around for several years, but no one makes a PDA with hard drive bigger than 4GB ?

I'd like a PDA but only when they've got enough capacity to store all my movies, MP3's, GPS, emails etc. without fidling around with expensive memory cards ..
