Micromaxx 150 & tom tom 5

Just bought this PDA with intergrated gps and installed tom tom which did not come with the pda. Loaded fine but when I start the programme it says no gps receiver. I have tried the medion nav 5 and that recognises the receiver. I am at a total loss...not to good with my new toy...any suggestions please.
