Question Choosing the right PDA

Hi

Before jumping into the PDA world I would like to know if what I want to do is possible with MS word, MS excel, or Adobe Acrobat (PDF file)
As a job, I install and maintain access control and automation systems. At the end of each visit, my customer needs to sign a form.
The form I am using is a word document which I make a PDF file from.

My question is related to the signature of my customer, is the screen of PDA sensitive enough for my customer to sign on it?
And most importantly how will the signature be saved?
A copy of the signed document needs to be printed and sent to the customer.

I was thinking about the HX4700 with a rugedised waterproff case.

Thanks you for your help

Regards

Jack Morgan Smith

Welcome to our forums.
Although what you intend on doing is possible I don't think a PDA woulf be the ideal hardware. Your customer could sign on the PDA screen but i dont think they could add it to a word/pdf document and it probably wouldn't be suitable as a representation of a customers true autograph.

That said I've seen the systems that UPS/FEDEX etc use and although their hardware seems more robust etc it doesnt seem to take a great impression of the signature so maybe its not that important.
