There are a few options but my recent investigations led me to believe that TomTom Navigator 5 provided the best all round package for a PDA.
It comes on an SD card that you put into the PDA and the software loads itself. You need to log onto the TomTom website with a code that comes with the software, add a device code that is given as part of the installation, then key in a number TomTom give you. Thats it apart from setting up your preferences like colour svhemes, home location, voice etc.

Easy

Yes you will need the map file, check the cd for a file like Great Britain Map etc. Plus you will then need a GPS receiver, either hard wire or Bluetooth. The latter is a bit more flexible.

You will need to buy TomTom mobile 5 for your phone, i used to have a 7610 and ran TomTom mobile and it worked well. The software is on the memory card and you get a Bluetooth GPS receiver.
