Default Can i link to pc's

Hi,is there any way that i can use a compaq (or any type of pda)to access a standard pc?.I sometimes have to recover data from pc's,with different op.systems.At the moment i use a laptop with data recovery software/laplink,or take the drive out & install in an external usb drive.

Are you reffering to using a PDA for a remote connection to a PC?

Yes trying to find out if its poss to retieve data off a standalone pc machine to a pda via serial/usb connection.

Not really no.

You've got conversion & memory issues for starters. Then you'd need the PC running in order to install active sync - which for what I'm guessing the PC would be dead for starters.

Check out http://www.pocketvnc.com/public/default.aspx .
You can connect and take control of a PC over the network however you will be able to transfer any data etc from the PC to the PDA.
