PDA options

I am looking for a PDA for my son for school to organise (and remember) his homework. I didnt want to spend more than £100 and would be prepared to purchase reconditioned or second hand items with guarantees and would consider buying from the usa - can anyone recommend a product please to a pc literate 14 yr old!
