I'm on the brink of buying a PDA and have "speced" up several models. I would like to be able to connect to Internet when I am on the road, however, am confused as to how I do this!

I have Broadband connection on my home PC , no ISP as I use Hotmail for e-mailing.

Can you help please, in layman's speak!!!

If you get a PDA with Bluetooth you will be able to link to a mobile phone and access the internet and your email through gprs from your network.

You could also go for pda that has a phone built in and again access the internet through gprs. Another option is to go a PDA with Wifi as this would give faster access although you would have to go to a Wifi hotspot to be able to use this.

What models were you looking at?

Thanks for the info Martin, that makes it a bit clearer. I was looking at a HP Ipaq HX4700
or Dell Axim X51V and can't decide?

Re Wifi hotspots, are there many around or are they in selected areas?

WiFi hotspots are becoming more popular, mostly around city pubs at the moment.

They are both good spec PDA's although we have always sold more HP's than Dells.
