Default T-Mobile MDA Pro Vs IPAQ 2210

Having had the benefits of using an HP ipaq2210 with TomTom after a good 3 years of service I am looking to change not only my SatNav solutions but also my mobile phone (nokia 6310i). I have seen the MDA Pro bundled with Co-Pilot, Is this any different to TomTom? the only thing that put me off was the price, I was told even though I'm an existing customer of T-mobile I will still have to fork out 300 quid for the upgrade of the MDA pro with Co-pilot. Slightly hesitant now! Therefore is it possible to use TomTom software on the MDA Pro? Also do any of you good folks know if the MDA Pro has an built-in GPS receiver? Or will I have to get an seperate one? Also this might sound daft...but when the MDA Pro is running it's SatNav can phone call's still be made/received? I did look at the HP iPAQ 6915 as an alternative but the battery life seemed poor and also the cost seemed high. Any advice would be appreciated.

The MDA Pro doesnt have a built in receiver but it can run tomtom. I could get you something tomtom bluetooth which gets both the software and reciever. If you are running a nav program when you get a call the pograms mutes itself and runs in the background while you answer the call.

Sounds good, though as an update I spoke to T-mobile today, they now say that I can have the MDA Vario for the price of £90 with Co-Pilot, (they will discount me £190) not too bad. Only snag is....they don't have Co-pilot in stock at moment. What do you reckon to the Vario? and Co-pilot in general? as good/better than TomTom? or is something like the HP 6915 a better deal?

The Vario is a good machine we sell it as the Imate K-jam or Qteck 9100 so its very popular. Havent heard many good reports about co-pilot though. If you want I can get you tomtom for the vario. We are even getting in a good car cradle specifically for that range.

Sounds very intresting that, I am surprised that co-pilot has had bad reports though? I was told they even provide BMW with there SatNav solutions. How much would TomTom for the Vario cost? Does it include Bluetooth GPS receiver? What's this car cradle solution? Any idea how much my old HP ipaq should sell for? Since I think I will go along with the Vario my Ipaq 2210 will be no longer needed, it has an 512 SD card with the standard CF card, also with TomTom wired receiver, and power cradle, adaptor etc, what sort of price could I sell it for? all in good nick.

Not sure mate you might want to try Ebay say £100-200.

We are getting a new cradle for the vario but its not on the web yet although it will look similar to this.

Brilliant performance and it use's a mini usb connection which is the same as the vario you are about to get. It means all your chargers and cables will be compatible with both your phone and the GPS.
