Pda Messaging Please Help????

hi guys

I need to find some software for my pda(ppc) that will let me send a message to a friend over ad-hoc wifi network with no internet connection.
We have a ad-hoc wireless connection between my hp ipaq rx1950 and his xp home laptop and i have been able to access his files.

I really need a program to send messages between us and remember that there is no internet connection.
