Default PDA or Smartphone????

my birthday is coming up and my girlfriend wanted to know wheather i would like a PDA or a smartphone? I couldn't really tell her becuase i dont really know what i want and what type or brand to get. Hell i dont even know what each can do. She has around $500 to spend so can some of you guys out there point me in the right direction and give me the pro and cons and which brand is good. wifi is a must.

The only unit that has all of this in one would be the new ipaq 6900 series

Might be over your budget as it does not come with any GPS software.

There are many pda/phones that have GPS built in although most of the newer ones do have have wifi built in. Only these new HP have both built in. I would also look at Imate or Qtek range and the new Mio a701.

how much would the ipaq 6900 series be? also is the gps free? ok let say i dont really need a gps which pda or pocket pc would be good to have? my coworker told me to go with dell, what do you guy think?
