Is it safe to use a 2GB MiniSD card in a PDA?

Is it safe to use a 2GB MiniSD card in a PDA?I have heard the card could be too powerful for the devices, and could format it.
Could anyone give their opinions, and enlighten me as I will buy one if they're OK!

I've put my Mini-Sd from my Nokia N80 in my 2790 with no issues.

So long as your PDA supports 2gb, you should be OK.

How can I tell if it supports 2GB?
Its a XDA Mini s/i-mate kjam.
