WIFI PDA for Email & possibly skype

Hi,

I am overseas for a year working/holidaying and I did not bring my Lap Top with me. I am thinking of purchasing a PDA (as it is much smaller and cheaper) that has Wifi so I can connect to the internet cheaply (share house has wireless broadband). Can you please let me know your recommendations for a machine, such a mine field of products.

Also does anyone know if it is possible to use SKYPE on a PDA?
