Default MDA pro - expecting too much?

Just got my mda pro amd methinks maybe I was expecting too much after reading loads of reviews. For a start its got some annoying quirks unless I dont know how to use it!!
The main issues are not being able to use the X to shut stuff down . Installed magic button but its a nuisance having to click on a program to close everything. I have lost my today screen at switch on. It was there every time but now its whatever I was doing last! I wish I knew how to make it appear every time I switch on. If i click on the today icon nothing happens!! It came with mega boring ringtones!!! The internet is sloowwwwww - T-mobile?? Its actually slower than my crappy sagem gprs I had with orange. Another thing I dont like is that as I said whatever you were doing last is shown on screen after you have put in your password so if you switch on with anyone around they see your history immediately!! It doesnt seem very private - period. Any thoughts on these issues anyone?
Thanks

Make sure you get a FULL demo of the device in a store before you buy.

Once you've bought, your stuck with it, and any inherrant issues.
