Question What should I buy? Advice please!

Hi

I'm a complete newcomer to PDA's, to would appreciate some advice to point me in the right direction.

I'll be mostly using it to catch up on email and use Excel. Ideally, this would be connecting to the internet via wifi to send and recieve emails and surf the web. However, is this very expensive to do? If so, I could just synchronise emails with my desktop PC, not as good obviously but would be ok for my needs.

I'd love to get GPS for the car - again, does this raise the price significantly? Is it easy to install?

Playing mp3's would be a bonus.

I don't need a phone.

Is copying and pasting text into emails etc. straightforward? This is what I'd be doing a lot of the time.

Does wifi internet and GPS involve subscriptions?

Would appreciate any advice on what products would be suitable - and a rough idea of what I'd need to spend to get a) the cheapest option possible b) the version that does everything GPS, wifi etc.!

Many thanks

Jamie

If you have broadband and a wireless router, then internet at home is free. Otherwise, if regularly using check out www.jwire.com for locations, and if in UK, www.btopenzone.com and check their sub package. For £25/month you get 4000 minutes, which would be unlimited access for a single device using the account.

£25 per month is not worth it for me. Maybe I could get the 20p per minute plan, and just use it to download and upload email. Any ideas on what would be a suitable PDA for me?
