Default is there such a thing today?

hi all,

i'm an aircraft engineer. having used a pda in the past, i'm now after something that will fully serve me within the work place.

i want to store publications, easy enough, but i also need a dictaphone function and a camera to snap areas, defects and damage.

i would also like wifi and can't be doing with the querty keypad. i want a screen, not silly little buttons that waste space!

is there such a thing. its gotta be new too. seems to me that only the older ones do this.

thanks in advance.

The only PDA's with cameras these days are the PDA/Phones.

If you have to have a camera I would look at these models.

http://www.totalpda.co.uk/HP-iPAQ-6815.aspx
http://www.totalpda.co.uk/HTC-TyTN-PDA-Phone.aspx
http://www.totalpda.co.uk/Qtek-9000-PDA-Phone.aspx

The 9100 will give you biggest screen size although you will find the others easier to carry and use since they are phone size. All them will meet the requirements you set.

If you give me a call I can go over some other options.

Hewlett Packard used to do a camera addon, that plugged in to the top of the ipaq. I'm not sure if such a thing is still available, perhaps contacting HP would help.

i thought about the add-on camera too.

i have to say that i'm amazed that such products have been discontinued.

thousands of electrical gismos coming from every country of the world, yet this idea now seems obsolete. very bizarre!

cheers for you help though guys

Obsolete due to smart phones.

Many people like carrying one device only. Then there's the fact that many can be obtained free, under contract, from the networks rather than £300+ & the cost of your mobile.

Hence not profitable for the likes of HP. Instead they concentrate that PDA buyers want them as a PDA, not as a phone/camera etc etc.
