Default mio 550 clock resetting

Hello everyone,

I recently purchased a mio 550 .
My question is that when i switch it off from the switch (not the power button on the front)and switch it on again the time goes back to 4 march 2006 ,this happens everytime.
If i switch it of from the the power button on the front it retains the time.
My other question is do i need to switch it off from the bottom switch all the time especially overnight or do i just use the power button on the front??

help much appreciated.

Thanks all.

Just the power button on the front. If you are worried about accidently switching it on you can use the lock-function. This means you will have to enter a code within 5 seconds, each time it is switched on, or it will switch off.

Yes it will. I think you only need to switch the bottom switch off if you are changing the battery.

NB There is a firmware update on the Mio site for the P550, as some people have been having trouble restarting in the event of a flat battery check here > http://www.mio-tech.be/en/support/P5...t-overview.php

Download and save the file and transfer to an empty/formatted SD Card. Insert the card into your P550 and follow instructions.
