Default Defrag etc.

I'm new to a pda.... tell me, does one have to defrag and scan disc etc like with a pc.
I looked for ages for a recycle bin too but couldnt find it so does what you delete just vanish or am I filling up my ipaq somewhere?
I see there is a programme called SK tools which does all sorts of things, is this necessary to do general cleaning.

Hi,
You don't defrag and there's no recycle bin...once its gone its gone.

Charlie is correct about the OS itself. However, several file manager apps (such as Resco) add a recycle bin for files deleted using that file manager. And while there is generally no benefit from defragging RAM storage, defragging memory cards on a regular basis can keep access time from degrading to some extent. I have found the quickest way to defrag a memory card is put it into a PC's card reader, copy all contents to the PC, format the card, then copy the contents back to the card. Device-based defrag apps work but are very slow.
