Using PDA with bluetooth to check sms/text messages on mobiles

I am aware that there is some software for my PDA (Mitac Mio P550) which will allow me to check the text messages and other information stored on my bluetooth phone - as long as the bluetooth s turned on.

I know it sounds a bit cloak and dagger, and I'm sure that it could be used for "spying", but I am sure I have heard it is possible.
Any suggestions about what the software is, and where I can get it?
