Ever since Steve Jobs' keynote address the other week - I want an iPhone !
It just looks so neat . I currently have a Treo 650 with TomTom Navigator 5 and the Thb Bury car kit - it all does a lot but is still a collection of bits'n'pieces that does not integrate as well it might .
The Treo is a great phone and PDA , integrates well with my Macs and is simple to operate . In the car kit it gives great audio quality on calls and mutes my stereo when making or taking calls .
The Navigator 5 package works well with the Palm BT GPS receiver , but the Treo won't send voice directions out through the car kit and I have to rely on the internal speaker when navigating - not good . You can , however , take a call and resume navigation afterwards without needing to touch anything - this is good .
The new iPhone looks much more sophisticated - and the demos in the Keynote video - see Apple's website - show much more promise . Since it has Bluetooth , Wi-Fi and Google maps pre-installed - GPS navigation ought to be only a short step away .
Since it also is a fully functional iPod , you no longer need a separate car stereo ! With a proper car kit , the one device will be your phone , PDA , Sat-nav , iPod & car stereo !!!!!
How great is that and when will Total PDA be selling them ???
