Angry Qtek9000 too slow - go to Blackberry or WM6 ?

Hi,

My boss has been struggling with a Qtek 9000 running WM5 for a while now. I know he is a heavy user, but the whole thing is so SLOW - it annoys me on the rare occasion I have to help him deal with it.

Can someone suggest a serious PDA / Smartphone which can handle my bosses requirements, which currently stand at:

4500 contacts - most with full details

6000 emails kept in the inbox (he claims to need them to refer back to)

3 to 5 entries in the Calender, every day
for the last 6 months (although he would prefer the last 5 years)

I don't think it is asking too much to be able to sync up the above without having endless freezes, or it taking all day to process !
Activesync is up to date on the PC, and the Qtek unit is his 3rd one this year (the others started to refuse to connect to Activesync any longer)

Can someone please advise:
get him a blackberry ?
something with wm6 installed - if it is available in uk yet ?
another make ? (although they all seem to be made by HTC ?)

Cost isn't really an issue, we must spend hundreds of man hours, every time it goes wrong !

Looking forward to any comments...Cheers

Ok - We've answered this ourselves - get a BLACKBERRY for serious business use !

As we spend a small fortune with Vodafone, they let us try out a BlackBerry 8300, and it works like a dream.

The sync software is far quicker and simpler than Activesync, and has reassuring options to let you see whats going to be added / deleted before anything happens - unlike ActiveSync which was always a case of "ok - fingers crossed"
It also took a fraction of the time to syncronise everything - minutes instead of hours !

Even with his 5 year calender, and thousands of contacts, the Blackberry still runs quickly, and has no furstrating delays when searching for contacts - unlike the Qtek, Windows Mobile device which would pause for anything up to 10 seconds after each search letter was pressed.

The boss was a bit dubious to start with, and was griping about having no touch-screen or pocket word, but has quickly changed his opinion now that he can actually use it to do business things quickly and efficiently.

Hope someone finds this advice useful, I know its driven me crazy trying to support and advise this WM5 smartphone - now its a Blackberry I can breath a sigh of relief !
