Angry ActiveSync syncing with 2 PC's

hardware:- PDA; Dell Axim X51v - Home PC; WinXP Home - Work PC; WinXP Pro.
ActiveSync 4.5 on both PC's.
Requirement is to:-
Sync Calendar & Contacts on Home PC
Sync Calendar only on Work PC.

Problem:-
Everytime I plug the X51V into the Home or Work USB connected cradles Activesync starts the sync wizard and needs me to delete one of the 2 connections before it will sync. I now nickname the connections Home & Work on both my Home and Work PC's.
This way of syncing worked fine when I used my old X5. I have removed & re-installed ActiveSync on both PC's more than once trying to cure this repeated running of the ActiveSync connection wizard. After completing the wizard on either PC AS sync's the required data with no problem. I'm missing something somewhere and cannot see what it is.
Each PC does not recognise itself as being an existing sync'ed PC so I have to delete the PC and go through the sync wizard EVERYTIME. Also noticed that it duplicates entries in the calendar, not everytime tho!, I had to get rid of all the duplicates yesterday and that took nearly an hour on my work PC.

Any help much appreciated - Thanks

On WM5 and WM6 the handset will only allow a maximum of 2 connections to be stored on the device.

To sync with any other computers, a partnership has to be deleted from the device.

I only have and want 2 connections, I don't want any more, I have called them Work & Home and each time I leave one location and connect to the other it says it wants me to delete 1 of the 2 connections in order to setup the new one, when it is already there! so I have to delete the connection I'm expecting the device to accept then it creates it again and Sync's OK, (apart from the odd calendar duplication). so WHY do I have to delete each location then set it up again no matter which one I'm trying to connect to. Clear as mud? because thats what it is to me.

Definitly the PDA as its not recognising that you've connected and set u pa partnership to each PC already.

No it's not that, I'm on the latest AS version on both PC's, but, spoke to Dell today following Martin's suggestion and they think it's connection setting problems. They told me to delete ALL connections on both PC's and the PDA. This I have done, I now have to wait until tomorrow when I will be connecting it up to my work PC again. Hopefully the problem will be cured then, if not Dell will look further into to it for me. Post another update tomorrow. Thanks to Martin for the Dell number.

Dell asked me to delete all connections on both PC's and the PDA. After doing this I still had the problem today, so, Dell said they would change my PDA for a replacement, even tho I purchased it secondhand and it's guarantee ran out back in June before I purchased it. They think it's a hardware error and as he said will change it as a good will gesture, impressive or what! I should clear my PDA, keep the battery, cover, stylus & storage cards and swap it with the new one tomorrow when the courier delivers. Dell we ring me again Monday to see if the new unit does the same or cures the problem.
I can deal with that OK, easy enough to re-install my software packages. Just hope it works. Will keep this post updated.
