Default Pda for sat nav

I am looking for a pda to use for sat nav but unsure which is the best to go for.

I would like it to have built in sirf star III. I have found Mio P560 and Asus A696 so far. Can anyone reccommend any of these or an alternative?

The ipaq 5000 series are the best ones to go for.

Both have the sirf III receiver your looking and both have tomtom 6 pre loaded. The 5935 has Wifi and 2Gb rom so its the highest spec available.

Thanks for the reply and links.

What is the difference between the Asus A696 and the Ipaq 5935 apart from the A696 having windows 6 and not 5?

I'm showing the Asus as having windows mobile 5.

The HP has much more memory and comes with tomtom 6.

There is a comparison here.

Thanks again for the link. I saw somewhere that the Asus A696 now comes with windows 6. Not sure how much mem can be used with the asus though.

Asus Mypal A696 - ... without the protruding antenna, and is encased in stainless steel instead of plastic. Together with the anti-glare touch screen, the Asus A696 exudes a solid and high quality feel. Also having great connectivity, with built in Wifi and Bluetooth this is a feature packed bargin MyPal A696 PDA!!!

Note: Now Upgraded to Windows Mobile 6.0
Taken from a web site that are selling it. (Don't know if i am allowed to post link)

Default PDA & GPS

AJM - if you need a high resolution on the PDA - for example using the GPS with OS 50,000 maps then I would suggest the HP214 (£240) plus a low cost SirF bluetooth GPS. I've tried the lower resolution PDA's they really don't cut the mustard unless used for general route planning. Pete.

I ordered my Mio P560 yesterday and it has came this morning. On first view it looks ok. I have just put it on charge so can't really test it as yet but will later.

Can someone please tell me how i check to see how much mem is actualy installed and get other system specs?
