Cool Ipaq3870 & SD cards

Has anybody had problematic experiences with MMC vs SD cards?

The SD slot on my Ipaq3870 refuses to recognise either of my SD cards (62Mb and 512Mb). It switches on when you insert the card but can't see them (both work OK in my camera). A friend tried their MMC card in the slot and the Ipaq popped up a reccomendation to format the card (obviously I couldn't test this as it's not my card). Before I go out and buy a MMC card, has anybody experienced this situation?

As an aside, if anyones interested, the Ipaq has a CF jacket and this works fine with a Kingston Elite 2Gb CF card and TOMTOM Navigator.

Thanks for any help.

DeeJay

The PDA is faulty if it is asking you to format the card, sorry ;-(

Dont format the card as it wont work anyway, you need to get the reader repaired or get a CF jacket:

Here is a good webiste that has a lot of good feedback regarding repairs. http://www.ipaqrepair.co.uk/view_pro...hp?product=209

I think all you need to do is load the SD patch from the HP website this will fix your problem.
